Organic diary farm

The origins of the farm reach back to the 12th century. At that time the farm was a vassalage farm of the convict of the Benedictine nuns of the Sonnenburg in Bruneck. This helps explain the impressive dimensions of the farm.
The chapel Mair Kirchl  has been part of the farm sine the 17th century and still nowadays the family Aschbacher affectionately takes care of it.
Since four generations the Family Aschbacher has been working on the farm. The junior farmer leads the farm energy self sufficient with a wood chip plant, a photovoltaic and a hydroelectric power station. The forest belonging to the farm provides the chips for the own use.
Overall 35 cows and young cows are kept in a stable with modern milking station, a lot of space for the animals and pasturage. All summer long the young cows stay on the pasture belonging to the cottage up the mountains (Zösenberg).
In spring 2016 the farmer Junior started the construction of a new farming house that perfectly unites old and modern forms and models of living.
